Grounding Autumn Yoga
24th of September 2:30-4:30pm
As we are approaching autumn it’s time to embrace the warmth and sunshine accumulated in the summer and get grounded, stable and calm for the potentially unsettling, windy and vata-increasing autumn.
In this 2 hour class we will enjoy a grounded flow for stability, support and feeling embodied and warm. We will then enjoy a soothing, calming and restorative sequence. All to prepare and enjoy autumn.
Vata dosa is the elements of air and space. When balanced its part of the function of mobility and movement. But excessive vata can create too much movement (anxiety and insomnia – too many moving thoughts). Dryness, constipation, bloating and achy joints amongst other things. Autumn has vata qualities naturally so in Ayurveda we aim to reduce such qualities. And in our workshop this means we embrace the opposite qualities in our practise.
