So, I am a firm believer that the best way to get your nutrients is to eat varied and choosing wholesome preferably organic seasonal vegetables. At least varied. And for me, vegetarian only.

But I also know that our lifestyle and the produce we consume may not always be optimal. And therefore I do take supplements.

One thing I never thought of taking was protein. I know a lot of vegans and vegetarians are concerned about protein. Or rather non-veggies are claiming that its difficult to get veggie proteins – which simply isn’t true. However, when I was offered to try out Naked Nutrition’s Naked Pea protein powder I agreed.

Its completely vegan 100% Yellow Pea Protein with zero additives. Naked Pea contains no artificial sweeteners, flavours, or colours and is GMO-Free, Soy Free and Gluten-Free. That sounds good to me.

Simply simple pea powder full of proteins!

I also hoped it would give me the incentive to be a bit more disciplined in my training (I am adding callisthenics and handstand practice to my yoga so a protein boost would be good).

You get a lot for your money. It’s a huge container. This worked out well as the husband was also keen to try it out.

Now we are adding Pea Powder to the diet. To be honest it is not delicious… its a rather a neutral taste.  It is just natural, no strange artificial flavours. It’s as natural as it gets. And I appreciate that.

Adding it to something with a taste like a juice, smoothie, milky/mylky drink is fine though. I also like that the powder can be consumed and digested as a food, adding it to your meals, or in your baking. The husband mixes it on his cereal which is a great way to add extra protein. It’s a neutral taste so could be mixed in most things. There are also suggestions on the Naked Nutrition website for various recipes.

We are still trying it out and it is perhaps a little early to give a testimonial. I am not a bodybuilder so can’t comment on how much it has changed my shape or muscles. But it feels good, nourishing and building. And if you are looking to add (vegan) protein to your life this would be the way to go.
